Working Bee

We are planning on allocating both Queens/Kings Birthday and October Labour Day weekends as perpetual Working Bee Weekends. In an attempt to keep on top of general maintenance we will be establishing two regular Working Bee's a year.

Kings Birthday Working Bee (2023)

Thank everyone that helped out at the King’s Birthday weekend Working Bee and backed up again the following weekend for the clean-up. It was great to see so many of the family there working and catching up. A massive amount of work and clean-up was accomplished and everything looks so much better now. Thank you all so very much .

Cyclone Gabrielle (Feb 2023)

Severe Tropical Cyclone Gabrielle was a severe tropical cyclone that devastated the North Island of New Zealand in February 2023. Whangarei Heads and the surrounding area was hit hard with much damage to roads and property. 

We were extremely lucky The bach, amazingly, suffered no apparent damage or even leaks in the storms. The boatshed however did sustain major damage although  again, we were very lucky everything had been stored above the high water line and no damage to boats was sustained, although thing had moved and various paddles were swept away.
